Unisma Goes to Japan

University of Islam Malang (UNISMA) continues showing the existence to realize the vision of World Class University. On May 8, 2017 Rector of UNISMA, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si., accompanied by Prof. Drs. H. Junaidi Mistar, M. Pd., Vice Rector of Academic and Collaboration Affairs and Hj. Novi Arfarita, SP., MP., M. Sc., Ph.D., Head of the Office of International Affairs had the international trip to the country of Sakura, Japan.

The activities were started by the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between UNISMA and Wako University, Tokyo, Japan. The MoU was intended to strengthen academic collaboration between the two universities, such as student exchange, lecture exchange, joint research/conference as well as to empower the Japan Corner, which was already established in UNISMA on April 17, 2017. Therefore, right after the MoU signing, Prof. Masykuri and the team delivered Guest Lectures held by Keio University, NIHON University, and Wako University.Continuing the Japan trip, on Thursday, May 11, 2017, the team visited NPO Nursing House and this organization will provide scholarship for 2 UNISMA students. Besides,the team also carried out the comparative study in order to foster the rapid progress of the University of Islam Malang. The visit was coordinated by the representative of Wako University, Prof. Bambang Rudyanto, an Indonesian citizen who is a professor in Wako University. Prof. Masykuri explained that hopefully, this visit is part of internationalization of UNISMA so that UNISMA will be both nationally and internationally recognized as an outstanding university of Nahdlatul Ulama.
