14 International Students from 7 Countries Study Indonesian Language in UNISMA

Office of International Affairs (KUI) and Foreign Language Development Center (P2BA) University of Islam Malang (Unisma) has received 14 students of Indonesian Language for Foreign Speaker (BIPA) students from several countries such as Thailand, Japan, South Korea, England, Libya, and Syria. From the total participants, 10 of them were the participant of Regular BIPA Program and the 4 students are the participant of the Program Darmasiswa RI in 2018/2019. The students will study Indonesian language at Unisma for 1 year.

Besides learn Indonesian language, Unisma also prepared some special programs for the participants such as Indonesian art and culture, as well as some arts of NU members. Later, Unisma will collaborate with SMAINUS to learn batik process.

Previously, 10 students from Uzbek have learned Indonesian language, art, and culture for 1 month at Unisma.

These activities were one of Unisma program to achieve the target as World Class University in 2027, one of the indicators from the achievement was the numbers of international students have to reach five percent of the total. From the percentage of five percent it does not have to come from a degree education but can also come from non-degree education.

Unisma’s expectation of increasing the number of International Students of the MoU that have been signed with various Universities in the world such as Malaysia, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Japan, Brunei Darussalam, India, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, South Korea, China, Azerbaijan, Somalia, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and Timor Leste. Another thing that is not less important, in the framework of internationalization, Unisma not only invites foreign students to Unisma, but also gives excellent service so as to give deep and good impression.
